Dodge City- Evelyn D. Byrum, 84, died March 1, 2013, at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Ks.
She was born November 13, 1928, at Larned, the daughter of Orion and Gladys Shuss Stephenson. A lifetime area resident, she loved to read and cook.
She was of the Methodist faith.
On January 9, 1949, she married John W. Byrum at Larned. He died October 5, 2000.
Survivors include: five daughters, RaDonna Fancher, Cassville, MO, Jeannette Loewen, Diane Ebeling, and Norma Clark-Evans, all of Dodge City, Mona Byrum-Bonner, Amarillo, TX.; two sisters, Virginia Naugle, Orem UT, Thelma Irene Bloomquist, Redding CA; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ramon Stephenson and a sister, Ramona Paddock.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Friends may call from 1 pm to 8 pm Saturday and 1 pm to 8 pm Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at 2 pm at the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
