Fern McBride passed away in Larned, Kansas on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the age of 102.  She was born on November 29, 1915, the only child of Otto and Pearl Myers, near Lewis, Kansas.  She graduated from Fellsburg High School in 1934, attended Fort Hays State College, and taught in a country school in Charlot, Kansas.

She married Earl McBride from Kinsley, Kansas on April 30, 1937 and they celebrated 74 years of married life.  She and Earl enjoyed the farm life all of their lives.

They had two children, Terril and Bonita.  Fern treasured each and every one of her small family.  Celebrating her life and memories are Bonita McBride of Larned, Kansas and Terril (Christina) McBride of Chickasha, Oklahoma.  There are two grandsons and their wives, Kip (Noelle) McBride from Reading, Pennsylvania and Kyle (Nikki) McBride from San Diego, California.  Also surviving are four special great grandchildren of Fern.  They are Weston, Autumn and Logan McBride and Tristan Barnett.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the United Methodist Church, Lewis, Kansas. Casket will remain closed and friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.  Burial will be in the Wayne Cemetery, Lewis, Kansas.
