Larned - Francis (Frank) Patrick Callahan Jr. 60, passed away January 21, 2017 at his home, Larned, after a year long battle with brain cancer.

He was born October 2, 1956 in Larned; the son of Francis P. Sr. and Hazel D. Skelton Callahan. A graduate of Washburn University, he received his Bachelors in Business. A lifetime area resident, he was a Licensed American Family Insurance Agent for 28 years, working at the Larned location for 23 years then added the Great Bend location 5 years ago.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned; a current member of the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, past president of Life Underwriters, past member of Larned Kiwanis Club, Chamber Ambassadors and a past board member of the Library board and the Sunrise board.

Frankie was a very devoted husband, son, father and papa. He enjoyed his grandchildren immensely and traveled many hours visiting them. He loved working in his yard and garage workshop.

On August 25, 1979 he married TaWanna Mae Mason in Great Bend. She survives.

Other survivors include; daughter, Shanna Danae Louise (Kyle) Cochran, Gardner; mother, Hazel D. (Tootie) Callahan, Larned; sister, Mary Rapp, Larned and three grandchildren, Cohen Colby Joseph, Houston Francis Patrick and Ellasynn Mae Louise.

He was preceded in death by; son, Colby Francis William Callahan, father Francis P. Callahan Sr.; brother, Walter Nelson Callahan and a brother-in-law, R.D. Rapp.

Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Vigil Service and Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas.
