Gibbs

Jetmore - Frank R. Gibbs, 91, passed away at Hodgeman County Health Center, ISB in Jetmore.
He was born April 28, 1934 at his family farm in Southeast Hodgeman County, son of Jasper and Emma C. Anderson Gibbs.
Frank was a lifetime area resident and member of Jetmore Methodist Church. He attended country schools, graduating from Jetmore High in 1952. He served in the Army Air Corps as a reconnaissance helicopter maintenance mechanic. Frank was a proud carpenter and masonry assisting in building many homes in Jetmore. He farmed for 35 years, loving to tend to his cattle. Frank retired as an equipment operator for Ford County Road and Bridge Department in Dodge City.
On December 12, 1960 he married Opal J. Corey in Dodge City, KS. She passed January 27, 2018.
Survivors include: two great grandsons, Donovan (Janet) Hatfield and Chandler (Emily) Hatfield; four great-great grandchildren, Audrey, Austin, Liam, and Aiden; along with nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sons, Rodeny R. Gibbs and Larry Law; three brothers, Cecil Gibbs, Sidney Gibbs, and Jack Gibbs; sister, Jessie Mae Ling; and granddaughter, Kristi Hatfield.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore, KS. A private inurnment will be held at Fairmont Cemetery at a later date with Pastor Mark Durham presiding.
