Franklin B. Shaver, age 80 of Quinlan, TX, passed away November 29, 2014. He was born February 5, 1934, in Belpre, KS, to David and Clara (Buhrer) Shaver. Franklin was a resident of Quinlan, TX, for 17 years and The Broadmoor in Rockwall, TX, for the past 7 months. He retired from Walmart after 25 years dedicated service in the Sporting Goods Department.
Franklin is survived by his wife of 36 years: Betty (Younger) Shaver; daughters: Nancy Karst and Lonnie Philbern of Great Bend, KS, and Rhonda (Karst) White and husband J.D. of Royse City, TX; brother: Walter "Ike" Shaver and wife Judy of Larned, KS; sisters-in-law: Ruth Shaver and Maxine Shaver; brother-in-law: Bob Vlahos. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Phil; brothers: Charles, Harold and Ted; sisters: Betty, Mildred, Myrtle, Nellie and Helen; and beloved dog "Sam."
A memorial service will be held 7:00pm Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Pastor Paul Appel officiating. On Saturday December 6th there will be a memorial service at 2:00pm at Beckwith Funeral Home Chapel, 916 Main Street, Larned, KS. Memorials may be made to Joy Lutheran Church, 302 N.
