Kalvesta - Fredrick Chester (Jiggs) Reed, 79 died March 12, 2007 at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.
He was born may 31, 1927 at Rural Kalvesta the son of Ralph Roy and Clemmie Ann Stiawalt Reed. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer-stockman.
He was a member of the Lane Scott Electric board. He was an active member of the Kalvesta community, and continued the farming and ranching operation after his father died.
On November 27, 1954 he married Joyce Hendrickson. She survives.
Other survivers include: a son Roger, Garden City, two daughters, Bonnie Molz, Lakin and Martha Swank, Garden City, three brothers, Guy, Tom, both of Kalvesta and Roy, Cimarron, two sisters, Betty Keilman, Ness City, Dawn Habiger, Cimarron, and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: a sister, Virginia Reed.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Cimarron with the Reverend Kent Little presiding. Visitation will be from Noon to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Beckwith Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
Memorials may be sent to the Kalvesta United Methodist church or the Pawnee Acre Community Club.
