Larned - G. Leon Graver, 93, died October 25, 2008 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned.
He was born May 16, 1915 at Ash Valley, Kansas the son of Andrew Jackson and Viola Mae Wagner Graver. A lifetime Pawnee County resident he was a Farmer, Stockman.
He was a member of the Larned First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Larned Quarterback Booster Club, a 64 year member of the Walnut City Masonic Lodge #215, Eastern Star, both of Rush Center, 4-H leader, Conkling Township Board, was active in the Ash Valley Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, the former sexton of the Ash Valley Cemetery, and was active in community activities among them square dancing. He also enjoyed playing cards.
On September 1, 1938 he married Mystel Kathryn Vaughan at Larned. She died December 2, 2007.
Survivors include: two sons, Leon Bev and his wife Sharon, Portland, Oregon, Ronald G. and his wife Mary Kay, Ft. Collins, Colorado; a brother, Wilbur; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Larned, with Pastor Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
