Marybelle Schreiner died on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017 at Via Christi Village where she had gone for rehabilitation following a stroke in early June. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, at University Christian Church, 2800 Claflin Rd., Manhattan. A brief graveside service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, at Larned cemetery.
Grace Marybelle (Kidd) Schreiner was born to Raymond Ellsworth Kidd and Julia Grace (DeGraffenreid) Kidd on March 22, 1929, at the home of her grandparents in Newton, Kans. She grew up in the Milford community, attending grade and high school, graduating from Milford High School in 1946.
Marybelle attended Kansas State College and Manhattan Bible College. She was married Aug. 22, 1948 to Charles Ronald Schreiner. They made their home on a farm just outside Larned, Kans. Ronald preceded her in death in 1992. Other family members who preceded her in death were: brother Lyle Chan Kidd, who died in 1935 at age 4; and sisters Helen Elizabeth (Kidd) Webb of Emporia, who died in 2012; and Ima Jean Kidd of New York City, who died in May 2017.
Children born to Ronald and Marybelle were Marilyn Kay Masterson (Gregg), Charles Lawrence, (Linda), Louise Lynn Hooper (Les); and Laura Ellen Volz (Blaine).
Survivors include the children named above, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Louise and Les "Charlie" Hooper: Susan Henry (Michael McClung), Albuquerque, NM; and their children Hannah Elisabeth, age 5, and Naomi Lynne, age 2; and Lynne Nicole Henry, Rogers, Ark. (Daniel Hull) and their daughter Madeleine Danielle Hull, age 8.
Laura and Blaine Volz: Ashlen Marie (Volz) Hearlson (James), Wellington, Kans. and their children Logan Patrick, age 2, and Olivia Marie, age 4 months; U.S. Marine Sargent Bryce Frances, serving overseas; and Carissa Anne, Park City, Kans.
Marybelle's surviving sibling is Leon Ellsworth Kidd (Nancy) of Forrest City, Ark.
