Gary W. Stambaugh, 70, died April 4, 2008 at his home, Larned.

He was born June 9, 1937 on the family farm south of Macksville. He was the Maintenance Operator for the City of Larned Power Plant. He was a longtime resident of Larned and a Member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a huge KU fan, loved fishing, lawn work, and was known as the dandelion exterminator. He also loved wood working, singing, story telling, playing with his grandchildren, and collecting tools. Most of all, he loved his family.

On December 28, 1958 he married Lillis Wratil in Macksville. She survives.

Other survivors include; a son; Rod and wife Amy, Broomfield, Colorado, Kay West and husband Robert, Colorado Springs, Colorado, two grandchildren, Jackson Theodore and Rachel Stambaugh.

He was preceded in death by; His parents and, two sisters, Doris Hightower and June Kephart.

Funeral will be at 10:30 Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
