Obituary

Gaynell Ann Rose, 63, passed away July 28, 2025 at Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.

She was born April 4, 1962 in Wichita; the daughter of Ted and Wilma Grace Brown Ashton.  A longtime area resident; she was the Administrative Assistant for the Hodgeman County Extension Office.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned; was a florist, loved arranging flowers, doing crafts, helping with Hodgeman County 4-H and always being around her grandkids.  She worked at LJCF and LSH for over 10 years.

On September 27, 1980 she married William Lloyd Rose.  He passed away January 8, 2022.

Survivors include; three daughters, Lindsey Ann Rose, Larned, Heather Lynn Thompson, Hanston, and Stacy Marie Rose, Emporia; two sisters, Carlene Jackson, Salina and Gwendolyn Brown, Hutchinson; a brother, Robert Ashton, Pleasantville, NY; and four grandchildren, Wyatt Austin, William Howard, Annabeth Morgan and Morgan Odessa.

She was preceded in death by; her parents; Ted and Wilma Ashton and a sister, Charlotte Wilson.

Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025 at First Christian Church, Larned, with Sam Porter presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.

Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery.
