Jetmore – Gladys Marie Church, 97, died June 2, 2014 at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
She was born March 2, 1917 at Collyer, the daughter of Harold E. and Adela See Pittaway. A longtime area resident, she was a postal clerk for 25 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and was the president for the UMW, a Sunday school teacher, a chairman for the church funeral dinners and a communion steward, all of Jetmore.
On February 4, 1934, she married Harold Church in Jetmore. He passed away February 8, 1980.
Survivors include: two sons , Daniel Church and wife Lutrecia, Bella Vista, Arkansas and Dr. Edwin Church and wife Marilyn, Kansas City, Kansas; a daughter, Anita Warden, Jetmore; a sister, Mildred Law, Jetmore; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Jo Church, a brother, Harold Edwin Pittaway Jr. and two sisters, Alice Bamberger and Laura Lynn Wilson-Van Voorhis and a son-in-law, Bob L. Warden.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
