Obituary

Hanston – Glen (Shorty) Hubin, 85, died January 21, 2009, at Hanston.

He was born July 22, 1923, at Larned, the son of John and Bonnie Taylor Hubin. A lifetime Hanston resident, he was a Farmer and Custom Harvester.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and V. F. W., both of Hanston, and American Legion, Jetmore.

On Sept. 3, 1941 he married Mary Nutt at Hanston. She died January 22, 2008.

Survivors include: two sons, James, Centralia, Missouri, John, Hanston; four daughters, Sharon Grate, Andover, Becky Benda, Okarche, Oklahoma, Lana Paschal, Lakewood, Colorado, Patti Duerksen, Hillsboro; fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy; one granddaughter, JoLynn Hubin; and a great granddaughter, Jaris JoLynn Slaton.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Hanston, with Revs. Gary Winget and Carl Vincent presiding. Friends may call from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Friday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. The casket will be closed. Burial will be in the Hanston Cemetery, Hanston with Military Graveside Rites.
