Larned – Glenn Scott Presley, left for heaven September 21, 2014 from Mayo's St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota at age 66.
He was born February 8, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas to Glenn and Ruby Elzey Presley. After graduating from McPherson College, he moved to Larned to begin teaching high school industrial arts classes. He taught for 40 years, helping students to build 26 houses, various sheds and garages. Twenty-five years were spent managing the Larned Swimming Pool, always with a listening ear, an infectious smile, and an open heart. He was anxious to help all children and teenagers. With his family he was a loving husband, a caring father, and a very proud grandpa.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Larned, KNEA, NRA, and the Fort Larned Gun Club.
On December 31, 1967, he married Linda Walker in Marquette, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Jennifer Pearce (Chuck), Dallas, Texas; a son, Jedidiah Presley, Wichita; a grandchild, Patrick Pearce, Dallas, Texas; a brother, John Presley (Diana), Dodge City; a brother-in-law, Glenn Walker (Barbara),Brookville, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
On Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Glory Be, 621 Broadway St., Larned KS, the family invites the community to join them in sharing and exchanging their personal memories and stories about Pres. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 701 Main Larned, Kansas, with Pastor Bethann Black presiding. Friends may sign the Register Book Thursday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
