Larned – Gregory L. Smith, 69, passed away December 2, 2019 in Larned.

He was born June 25, 1950 in Hays, KS, the son of James Edward and Virginia Lee Woelk Smith Sr.

A longtime area resident, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Larned. He was a MHDD professional at Larned State Hospital and he was also a journeyman electrician.

Survivors include: longtime companion, Lucille Serpan, Larned; a son, Zeb (Kayse) Smith, Garden City; daughter, Moriah Mitchell, Graham, Texas; one sister, Sheri (Eric) Kendall, Lenexa; two brothers, James "Bub" (Annette) Smith Jr., Grove, Oklahoma, Steven Smith, Larned; five grandchildren: Blake, Kyle, Emma, Kayla, and Zakk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Julie Smith and Debra Harbert.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Nicholas Martinez presiding. Visitation 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Inurnment in Larned Cemetery, Larned.
