Gwen Irene Walter, 85, passed away November 20, 2021 at Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt.

She was born October 5, 1936 in Arnold, Nebraska, the daughter of Ralph Earl and Irene Violet Norall Alexander.

Moving from Lyons, she was an area resident since 1971. She was a group manager of Alco and a member of the First Christian Church, both of Larned.

On April 5, 1954 she married Vurn "Shorty" Walter at Kearney Nebraska; he preceded her in death on March 18, 2005.

Survivors include: five children, Robert L. (Mary) Walter, McPherson, Connie Lou (Raul) Servin, San Antonio, Texas, Bruce E. (Julia) Walter, Turon, Thomas E. Walter, Larned, Rocky (Linda) Fox, Pratt; one sister, Judy (George) Lookhart, Manhattan; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Ralph D. Alexander, and two sisters, Joan Bagley and Virginia Moore.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
