Larned – Harry W. (Bob) Hairfield, 86, died May 15, 2013, at Fort Dodge, Kansas.
He was born September 22, 1926, at Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Harry R. and Clara
He graduated from Hoisington High School in 1944 and Fort Hays State College in 1965. He attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri in 1965 on a NASA Scholarship towards a PHD and was employed as an Engineer with Aero Space Companys.
Harry served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the US and on the Island of Guam as a Radioman Second Class.
On May 7, 1951, he married Roberta Novotny of Hoisington, Kansas
Other survivors include: his wife, Roberta; two sons, Dr. Wm Michael and Wendy Hairfield of Kirkland, Washington and Robert R. and Laura Hairfield of Kennewick, Washington, and two grandsons, Robert and Matthew Hairfield.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Memorials may be sent to any local VFW Chapter of the Donor's choice in care of Beckwith Mortuary, Box 477 Larned, Ks 67550
