Hazel Elaine Fairchild's Obituary
Larned - Hazel Elaine Fairchild, 97, died October 25, 2009 at the Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend.
She was born March 9, 1912 in Larned, the daughter of Harry E. and Catherine Torrance Hartman. A lifetime area resident, she was a Homemaker.
On November 21, 1931 she married Keith Armstrong at Kinsley, he died April 7, 1961. In 1967 she married James Fairchild, he died August 31, 1981.
Survivors include; two sons, Jack Armstrong, Larned, Donald Armstrong, Littleton, Colorado; a daughter, Loal McMillan, Wichita; a sister, Mildred Torrens, Oakdale, IL; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Armstrong; a brother, Robert Hartman, and two sisters, Edna North, Ethyl Spellman; and a granddaughter, Joy Ann Armstrong.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Larned Cemetery, with the Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
