Larned – Helen S. Vratil, 93, died July 13, 2010 at Larned Healthcare Center, Larned, Kansas.

She was born February 2, 1917 in Pawnee County on a Farm near Belpre, Kansas the daughter of Tom and Erma (Searcy) Salmans. A lifetime resident of Pawnee County area, she was sales person at the Toggery, and a Homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Larned.

On September 21, 1936 she married Otto Henry Vratil at Larned. He died March 11, 1979.

Survivors include: one daughter Audrey Prescott, and Husband Don, Larned; three grandchildren: Brad Prescott and wife Chris Atlanta, GA; Jan Prescott Beaty, Richfield, Minnesota; and Nona Prescott Golledge and husband Chris, Lawrence, Kansas.; seven great-grandchildren: Kara Prescott, Megan Prescott, Tanner Prescott, Kyla Beaty, Korey Beaty, Brendan Golledge and Caelan Golledge; a sister Maxine Martin, Larned; and a brother, Robert (Bob) Salmans, Larned.

She was preceded in death by husband Otto H. Vratil; a baby Daughter on June 5, 1952; three sisters, Lois Ellis, Claire Thorpe, Dorothy Schmidt, and two brothers: Lawrence and Kenneth Salmans.

Funeral will be at 10:30 am Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. To 8:00 p.m. Thursday, and until service time Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary, Inc. Larned. Burial will be in the Larned City Cemetery.
