Larned- Clara "Irene" Blackwell, 106, passed away June 21, 2017 at the North Shore Health & Rehab Facility, Loveland, CO.
She was born January 18, 1911 in Larned, KS the daughter of O.H. and Stella L. Wheeler Fell. A Longtime area resident moving from Pawnee Rock in 1983 she was a Records Registrar at the Santa Fe Trail Center.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Pawnee Rock and the Daughter of the American Revolution.
On September 1, 1932 she married Roy Charles Blackwell in Larned, KS. He passed away March 16, 1971.
Survivors include: three sons, Dean (Nelda) Blackwell, Vermillion, SD., Duane (Sondra) Blackwell, Sebring, FL. And Gary (Evelyn) Blackwell, Stuart, FL.; one daughter, Karen (Dwight) Johnson, Loveland, CO.; one sister, Nadine Miller, Beatrice, NE. and numerous beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyanne Blackwell and Barbara June Armstrong; two brothers, Cliff Fell and Ted Fell; four sisters, Fern Drain, Rita Roach, Lorraine Fell and Wilma Fraser.
Burial has taken place and a memorial Service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, August 13th at First Christian Church with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to be given to Santa Fe Trail Center in care of Beckwith Mortuary PO Box 477, Larned, KS. 67550. Condolences may be left for the family at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
