Irene I. Holmes' Obituary
Hanston – Irene I. Holmes, 89, died March 11, 2007 at her home in Hanston.
She was born Sept 21, 1917, the daughter of Charles and Agnes Hertel Bamberger. She was a lifetime area resident, and a homemaker.
She belongs to the Hanston United Methodist Church, E.H.U. worked with the 4H, and helped with all church activities.
On January 27, 1940 she married Veryl H. (Doc) Holmes at Iuka, Kansas. He survives.
Other Survives include: two sons, Randy, and Roger, both of Hanston; three daughters Sandra Brown, Durango, CO; Sheryl Porter, and Sonja Horyna, both of Hanston. One brother Chris Bamberger, Jetmore; one sister Sue Haas, Ness City; 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Martin and Lloyd Bamberger; and three sisters, Mayme Hendrickson, Sophie Bamberger, and Ida Ziesch, and one great grandson, Gage Porter.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Hanston, with the Rev. Mitch Reece presiding. Friends may call from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Hanston Cemetery, Hanston.
Memorials may be sent to the Hanston United Methodist church or St. Catherine Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.
