Obituary

Jetmore - Isadora Tillie Lappin passed away on May 19, 2006 at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center at the age of 103. She was the loving wife of the late John C. Lappin, and the mother of Betty Bollinger, Dodge City, Virginia Roszel, Hutchinson and Katheryn Bradford, Jetmore.

Isadora Tillie Ray was born in Graham County, Ks. to Frank and Myrtle Hooper Ray on April 30, 1903. She graduated from Hill City High School in 1921. She married John C. Lappin on September 26, 1923. They settled on the farm 5 miles south of Jetmore in October of 1925. For the next 20 Years Isadora was the typical prairie wife and mother. In October 1945 she and John moved into Jetmore making the house on Main Street their home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving as the Sunday school secretary for 18 years. She was also a 70 + year member of the Homemaker's Club (EHU), a 50-year member of the Friday Afternoon Study Club, and a member of the American Legion and Hospital Auxiliaries. Over the years of her long life the pursuit dearest to her heart was the knitting of 71 Afghans for every member of her family, and special friends.

Isadora will lovingly be remembered by her 3 daughters, 1 son-in-law, Roy Roszel, 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Lappin (1982); hers parents, Frank and Myrtle Ray: 3 sisters, Francis Cole, Alpha Post, and Luella Wagner; 3 brothers, Thomas Ray, John Ray, and Woodrow Ray; and 2 sons - in-laws C.M. (Larry) Bollinger, and Glen Bradford Jr.

Funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with the Rev. Mitch Reece presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, in care of the Funeral Home. Personal condolences may be left and this notice read at www.beckwithfuneralhome.com.
