James William Beer, 70, passed away August 18, 2022 at his home in Larned.

He was born July 10, 1952 in Larned, the son of Wayne Eugene and Esther Alice Conard Beer.

A lifetime area resident, he was of the Methodist faith. He was a fabricator for Doerr Metal and worked in the power plant at Larned State Hospital. He attended Hutchinson Community College and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include: two brothers, Steven W. (Sharlou Messerschmidt) Beer, Wichita, Robert E. Beer, Telluride, Colorado; sister, Jeanne Beer, Larned; three nephews, Kevin Beer, Kyle Beer, Danny Sherrid; three nieces, Tonya Long, Sabrina Quinn, Stephanie Yahne; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John F. Beer, and sister, Onalee E. Sherrid.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
