Obituary

Larned – James Lee Keeley, 81, died March 6, 2008 at Bob Dole Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita.

He was born July 4, 1926 at Larned, Kansas the son of James E. and Leeta McConnaughhay Keeley. He was a farmer and stockman. Moving to Kansas Soldier Home, after retiring.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, a life member of both posts, and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign War Post, all of Larned, USN Construction Battalion Seebees of Seceond Marine Division, and Decorated Veteran and a member of the Kansas Cattleman's Association.

Survivors include: two brothers, Thomas M. Dodge City, John (Pat),and wife Phyllis, Kingston, Oklahoma; one sister, Marrilee Hester, Auburn California; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry, and Justin.

Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with the Rev. Johnny Augmon presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, with Military Graveside rites provided by the Navy and National Guard.
