Fort Dodge – James Ward Law Sr., 90, died July 3, 2007, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
He was born October 4, 1916, in Hodgeman County, the son of Orval Ray and Jennie Housman Law. A painter for Fort Dodge and, he lived their for 54 years.
He was of the Baptist Faith, and was a member of the American Legion, Dodge City, and a Avid Gardener.
On June 26, 1937, he married Laura E. Corey at Jetmore. She died March 12, 2003.
Survivors include: two sons, James W. Jr. and wife Mary, Jetmore and Melvin and wife Cecelia, Dodge City; two daughters, Barbara Son, Dodge City and Nancy Staats and husband Kenneth, Spearville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers, Orval Ray Jr., Marion P., George, Verl, Earl, Arnold, Cecil, and Floyd Law; one sister, Bertha Fakes; a son in-law, Charles Son.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Marvin Ewertt presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8p.m. today and Thursday, at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with military graveside rites by American Legion Chester Hawkins, Post 290.
