Pawnee Rock - James (Tom) Thomas Maxwell, 78, died January 10, 2006 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation, Great Bend.
He was born November 25, 1927, in Plant, Arkansas, the son of William Samuel and Joanna Cates Maxwell. A Larned resident moving to Pawnee Rock in 1970, he was a Foreman for Road Construction for Broce and Smith and Venture Corp for 48 years.
He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Concordia, KS and was an avid Bowler, Hunter and Fisherman.
On August 18, 1951 he married Donna Griffin at Clinton, Arkansas. She survives.
Other survivors include; a son, Jim A Maxwell, Odin, two daughters, Vicky Clark, Aztec, New Mexico and Linda Klug, Odin, a brother, Billy Joe Maxwell, Clinton, Arkansas, seven grandchildren, and three great – grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; a sister, Lillian Lay.
Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Don Paden presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock.
