Larned – James Robert (Bob) Brown, 92, passed away August 28, 2017 at Diversicare of Larned.
He was born June 17, 1925 in Plevna, KS, the son of Leo and Burtha Saxton Brown. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer.
He attended the First Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion, both of Larned. He also served in the United States Army.
On July 9, 1968 he married Matilda (Tillie) Zorn. She passed away July 2, 2007. On June 6, 2011 he married Betty Millhouse-Twitchell . She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Fred Brown, Wichita; daughter, Teresa Schertz, Universal City, Texas; sister, Maxine Ackerman, Larned, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Rev. Joshua Leu presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
