Joe Allen Zink, 75, passed away May 30, 2024 in Larned in the same home he grew up in.

He was born July 2, 1948 in Great Bend, the son of F. Lloyd and Eleanor Berglund Zink.  A lifetime area resident, he was a retired MHDD from Larned State Hospital.

He was of the Christian faith, graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism.  He was a sports fan, especially KU, KC Chiefs and KC Royals.  He liked reading, history, science and was an amateur astronomer.  His greatest joy in life was being a dad and grandpa, spending time with his kids and grandkids.

On February 14, 1976 he married Mary Ann Reames.  She survives.

Other survivors include; his children, Step-Son, Richard (Keena) Davis, Wichita, son Ryan (Amanda) Zink, Highlands Ranch, CO, a daughter, Andrea (Kris) Henkhaus, Olathe, and son, Adrian Zink, Overland Park; eleven grandchildren; Austin Davis, Jadon Davis, Lucas Rauscher, Max Rauscher, Icen Zink, Simone Zink, Logan Rauscher, Xavier Zink, Dewell Zink, Niobe Zink, Zelia Zink and five step-grandchildren, Alyssa Wichman, Rylen Hansen, William Henkhaus, Jon Henkhaus and Steven Henkhaus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Zink.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
