Hanston – John (Johnny) A. Hubin, 69, passed away September 8, 2018 in Hanston, KS.

He was born March 13, 1949 in Dodge City, KS, the son of Glen and Mary Nutt Hubin.  A lifetime area resident, he was a custom cutter.

He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed the rodeo, riding bulls, bucking horses and team roping. When he was young, he also enjoyed hunting with his champion coon hounds.  They won many championships together over the years. He was a good horseman and cowboy.

Survivors include: son, Joshua (Jamie) Hubin, McPherson, KS; daughter, Bonnie (Jarrett) Slaton, Green Bay, WI; brother, James Hubin, Clark, MO; three sisters, Sharon Grate, Andover, KS, Becky Benda and Patti Duerksen, both of Hillsboro, KS; three grandchildren, Jordan, Brittanie and Brooklyn Slaton.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Lynn Hubin; brother, Tommy Hubin; sister, Lana Paschal and a granddaughter, Jaris Slaton.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hanston Mennonite Cemetery, Hanston, with Ronnie Ruff presiding.
