John A. Benish's Obituary
Spearville- John A. Benish, 76, died August 3, 2006 at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.
He was born January 28, 1930 at Dodge City, the son of Albert and Cecilia Hattrup Benish, he was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the St. John Baptist Catholic Church and the Farmers Union, Spearville, V.F.W., Dodge City.
On August 26, 1957 he married Annette Kropp in Spearville. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Kenneth, Lorne and Michael, Spearville; three daughters, Catherine Benish, Los Angeles, California, Teresa Blackwell, Hanston, and Kimberly Ruder, Wichita; two sisters, Alberta Schmidt, Wichita and Clara Perini, Westminster, Colorado; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and George; and a grandson.
Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Father Robert Schremmer and Deacon Dwaine Lampe presiding. Friends may call from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Saturday and from 9a.m. to 4p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Old St. Joe Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Old St. Joe Cemetery Fund or Hodgeman County Health Center, in care of the funeral home.
