John Lucien Giroux, 55, passed away May 13, 2024 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.

He was born June 4, 1968 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, the son of Armand Lucien and Gloria Diane MacGilligan Giroux.

An area resident since 2022, he moved from Lenexa and was a songwriter. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Great Bend and enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and scripture study.

On May 25, 1991 he married Kristine Lea Heintz in Toronto, Canada; she survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Megan Marcielle Giroux, Larned; son, Nathaniel Lucien Giroux, Larned; sister, Stephanie (David) George, Jarvis, Ontario, Canada; brother, Joseph Starski, Detroit, Michigan; four nieces, Rae, Amanda, Jordan, Cordelia; two nephews, Dakota and Luke.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Giroux.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Great Bend, with Bishop Joshua Boone presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Cremation will take place following the service.
