John Douglas Springer, 59, passed away December 2, 2021 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was born June 25, 1962 in Larned, the son of Charles Douglas and Sarah Marie Carpenter Springer.

A lifetime area resident, he was a truck driver. John was a hardworking family man who took pride in providing for his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and was so proud of seeing them making memories with their own families, he enjoyed working on things with his sons and talking to his two oldest daughters on the phone when he was trucking down the road and watching his younger daughter rodeo.  He loved them and they were his world. He enjoyed family gatherings where he could sit with his dad and have a cold one. He loved watching tv in his recliner after being on the road all day. He enjoyed going to auctions, John Wayne movies, and making summer sausage and jerky for friends and family. John always saw the bright side of things.

On March 23, 1990 he married his best friend, Peggy J. Rice at Larned; she survives.

Other survivors include: four sons: Joshua (Natasha) Gibson, Howard, Jared (Tamara) Miller, Ames, Iowa, Jessy Springer, Denver, Colorado, Jacob (Madi) Springer, Great Bend; three daughters, Jennifer (Derek) MacKay, Leawood, Jill (Gary) Springer, Norwich, Jordyn Springer, Macksville; father, Doug (Pat) Springer, Pawnee Rock; a brother, James Springer, Austin, Texas; two sisters, Lynn (Ned) Oak, Macksville, Lori (Pat) Boor, Larned; nine grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 13 ^th at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Mark Hornbaker presiding. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021
