Obituary

John "J.D." Tarman, 75, passed away May 3, 2023 at Hodgeman County Health Center ISB.

He was born May 22, 1947 in Dodge City, the son of Jack W. and Kathleen "Katy" Cate Tarman.

He was a lifetime cowboy, stockman and farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jetmore and also enjoyed attending Cowboy Church. He was a member of Jetmore Saddle Club, Kansas Livestock Association, US Premium Beef, and he also worked for the Hanston and Jetmore Branches of Dodge City Coop. He was an avid fan of the world-famous Judy's.

Survivors include: brother, Joe (Carolyn) Tarman, Jetmore; niece and nephews, Jonathan (Kimberly) Tarman, and their children, Promise, Haven, and Christian Tarman, Sanford, Florida, Jessica (Steve) Evans, and their children, Logan and Colin Evans, Olathe, Jacob (Kristen) Tarman, and their children, Myla, Lillian, and Karter Tarman, Jetmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin siblings, Marsha Faye and Martin Raye Tarman, and a nephew, Joshua Lynn Tarman.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023 at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore, with Reverend Mark Durham presiding. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Following the graveside service, all are welcome to join the family at the King Center for a luncheon.
