Jetmore – John P. Witman, 93, died October 1 2006 at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.
He was born June 24, 1913 at Marienthal, the son of Pete and Elizabeth Schaffer Witman. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and Dairyman.
He was a member of the American Dairy Association, Kansas Farm Bureau, and a 4-H leader, Jetmore.
On September 2, 1936, he married Lois Mae Stoskoff at Jetmore. She died June 29, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, Gene Witman, Jetmore; one brother, Gene Witman, Garden City; one sister, Lorene McVey, Garden City, three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ted, Toby, Bob and August; two sisters, Dee Braum and Maxine Savolt.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with Rev. Mitch Reece presiding. Visitation will be from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
