Larned - Joseph H. Groves, 58, died September 18, 2013 at the Hays Medical Center.
He was born June 21, 1955 in Ness City, the son of Charles John Groves and Betty Louise Beltz Greathouse. A lifetime area resident; he was a Licensed Mental Health Technician at the Larned State Hospital.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Larned.
Survivors include; his mother; four brothers, Robert Groves, Sacramento, California, Thomas Groves, Oak Lawn, Illinois, John Greathouse, Kingman, California, Ronald Greathouse, Davenport, California; four sisters, Elaine Alexander, Centennial, Colorado, Donna Fehrenbach, Edmond, Oklahoma, Jean Fear, Newton, Kansas and Jacqueline Hale, Dowagiac, Michigan and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Groves and his step-father Caris Greathouse.
Cremation has taken place A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary, with Albert Hatton presiding. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Pawnee County Humane Society, in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
