Obituary

Joseph G. Haberman, 91, passed away February 10, 2021 at Kansas Soldiers Home, Dodge City.

He was born March 31, 1929 in Rush County, the son of Joseph F. and Anna A. Skolaut Haberman.

An area resident since 1984, he was a farmer, rancher, and painter. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the V.F.W, both of Larned, Knights of Columbus, Kinsley, and a member of the American Legion, Hays. He served in the United States Air Force.

On August 31, 1954 he married Helen Danler in Kinsley; she survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Christine (John) Engel, Topeka; three sons, Randy (Jana) Haberman, and Brian (Betty) Haberman, both of Larned, Douglas Haberman, Hays; a brother, Henry Haberman, Timken; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Lou Haberman; a son, Joseph Haberman; three sisters, Magdalene Haberman, Joan Dreher, and Esther May Brack; a brother, Melvin Haberman; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Haberman.

Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary . Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with a vigil and rosary at 7:00 p.m. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery, Kinsley.

Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Welcome Inn Senior Center, in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550.
