Jetmore – Julia E. (Irsik) Shriwise, 91, passed away October 21, 2016 at the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
She was born October 18, 1925 in Dodge City, KS, the daughter of Lawrence and Francis Philomena Peschka Irsik. A lifetime area resident, she was a clerical secretary.
She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jetmore, Cathedral of our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, Altar Society and the Dodge City Country Club.
On September 4, 1948, she married Clare Francis Shriwise in Dodge City, KS. He passed away on June 25, 2012.
Survivors include: five sons, Rod (Kathy) Shriwise, Overland Park, KS, Sid (Mary) Shriwise, Dodge City, KS, Dr. Tom (Celina) Shriwise, Overland Park, KS, Mike (Cindy) Shriwise, Jetmore, KS, John Shriwise, Dallas, TX; a brother, Larry Irsik, Wichita; three sisters, Helen Gerber, Dodge City, Pat Goebel, Jetmore; Manie Gibbons, North Carolina, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Norbert, Clarence and Steve Irsik; a sister, Elsie Vogel and a granddaughter, Nikki Shriwise.
Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jetmore. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Father Maurice Cummings presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
