Obituary

Larned – Justin Keenan Perez, 37, passed away April 11, 2017, at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

He was born November 17, 1979, in Larned, the son of John P. Perez and Rebecca D. Kirchgassner. A lifetime Larned and Dodge City resident, he was a D.J.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Dodge City, where he served as an Elder, taught Sunday school and was very active. He donated blood to the American Red Cross and participated in the Special Olympics and the 4th of July run in Larned. He also enjoyed playing dominos and bingo at his apartment complex and loved country music.

Survivors include: his father, John P. (Olga) Perez, Dodge City; three brothers, John P. (Janice) Perez Jr. Larned, Gregory Shane (C.J.) Perez, Topeka, Jason R. (Rebecca) Perez, Dodge City; six sisters, R. Michelle Perez James, Woodward, OK, Beatrice I (Andrew) Joaquin, Glendale, AZ, Julie L. (Filiberto) Cubillo, Hays, Ashley S. Perez, Wichita, Cassandra S. (Francisco) Mata, Amarillo, TX, O. Vanessa (Nicholas) Rodriguez, Dodge City and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca D. Blackwell.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with Bishop Peter Solie presiding and Bishop David Bunkall conducting. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.

Memorials may be given to the American Breast Cancer Foundation in care of Beckwith Mortuary, Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550.
