Great Bend - Karen Faye Bronson, 65, passed away February 14, 2024 at her home in Great Bend.

She was born May 9, 1958 in Woodward, Oklahoma, the daughter of Byron and Annabell McKenna Kraft.

Moving from Oklahoma in 1970, she was a longtime area resident. She was a cook and food service supervisor at Larned State Hospital and Dominican Sisters. She also played bingo and loved bowling.

On August 11, 1990 she married Anthony Bronson at Larned; he survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, John Stiers, Great Bend, Timmy Stiers, Larned; two daughters, Shelia Stiers, Great Bend, Tiffany Wedgeworth, Great Bend; one brother, Terry Kraft, Larned; four sisters, Sherlin Moore, Anna (Daniel) Binns, both of Larned, Mary (Joy) Hammans, Woodward, Oklahoma, Ellen Mauldin, Wakita, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wilma Evans and Fredrick (Buck) Owens.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Dennis Scheibmeir presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary with family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial in Larned Cemetery.
