Larned- Karen M. Lewis,77, passed away March 18, 2022 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS.

She was born March 27, 1944 in Great Bend, KS. the daughter of W.M. Leroy (Roy) and Dorothy Rose Salmans Mead. A lifetime area resident she was a Paraprofessional at Fort Larned USD 495.

She was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church; was a graduate from Belpre Highschool and later attended Fort Hays State University, Barton County Community College and Neldines Beauty School.

On Aug 19, 1965 in Great Bend, KS. she married Richard L. Lewis. He passed away February 13, 2003

Survivors include: One daughter, Carla (Austin) Battin, Larned, two step- grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Mead.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Robert Sallee presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
