Karlis Loretta
Burns
March 25, 1937 – April 30, 2018
Larned - Karlis Loretta Burns, 81, was born March 25th, 1937 in Larned, KS. She was a beautiful mother, a homemaker, and the most resilient person in the world. Karlis passed away surrounded by love from her family in Hays Med hospital on April 30th, 2018 at 8:53 PM. Her wishes will be fulfilled, and she will be buried next to her husband in her hometown. Even at the end, she made sure that she was the "boss," and reunited with her family in heaven on her time.
Karlis was a once in forever kind of person that you would never forget. You always knew where you stood with her, and she wasn't afraid to be brutally honest about letting you know. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her. She loved the color pink and carnation flowers. You could often find her classical music playing, or especially, ABBA, her favorite artist. If she weren't listening to music, you would catch her watching soap operas like, "Days of Our Lives" or anything that had to do with the supernatural. Karlis was the most amazing woman in so many ways. She loved her family more than anything, and they loved her even more.
Karlis was the daughter of William Gatlin and Elsie Davis-Gatlin and was the sister to her brothers and sister, David Gatlin, George Gatlin, & Billie Shearrer. Karlis survived by her five (5) children, Christy Bair, Stacey Rouyer, Steve Rouyer, James Tracy, and William Bair; and along with her many grandchildren (13), Daniela Archibong, Rebecca Vogler, Kamryn Hofstad, Tyler Hardy, Tiffany Bair, Abbygayle Noble, Andy Rouyer, Charles Rouyer, Amy Rouyer, Kayden Rouyer, Jordan Suber, Lural Rouyer and Stacey Samantha Rouyer. She will forever be loved.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Larned Cemetery, Larned, with Pastor Steve McKiearnan presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
Memorials may be given to the Karlis Burns memorial fund in care of Beckwith Mortuary, Box 477 Larned, KS 67550.
