Kenneth L. Deckert, 80, passed away January 14, 2025 at Country Living of Larned.

He was born December 13, 1944 in Great Bend; the son of Albun P. and Mabel S. Miller Deckert.  He was a lifetime area resident. He was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church.  He was an All-State Basketball player at Larned High School and attended Wichita State University on a basketball scholarship. After graduating from Wichita State, he worked for the Boeing company for thirty years as a procurement specialist. He was an avid golfer, at one point having finished runner-up in the Nebraska Amateur Open. He loved to hunt and be with his hunting buddies, he enjoyed being with friends and family.

Survivors include; two brothers, Ronald Deckert, Phoenix, Arizona and James Deckert, Kansas City and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by; a brother, Marvin Deckert and a sister Marcia Ryder.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at a later date.
