Obituary

LARNED – Lawrence Dean Lucas, 89, passed away June 17, 2015, at his home in Larned.

He was born July 16, 1925, in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Walter Lee and Audi Wilson Lucas. A longtime area resident, he was roofer for commercial buildings.

He was a member of the Christian Church, Pawnee Rock. He enjoyed gardening, being outside, tinkering with equipment, fishing and hunting. He served in the United States Navy.

On June 22, 1955, he married Opal Whiddon in Oklahoma City. She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Gary Dean Lucas, Burley, Idaho; brother, James Lewis Lucas, Arizona; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Kennith Ray Lucas and Mark Steven Lucas; brother, Douglas Lee Lucas and three sisters, Lorene Scott, Naomi Sperry and Inez Bolinger.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the Christian Church, Pawnee Rock with Pastor John Thomas presiding.
