Obituary

Joplin, Missouri, Lawrence Schauvliege born June 11, 1937 on family farm in Jetmore Kansas to Camillus Francis Schauvliege and Louise (Stremal) Schauvliege.   He died at his home in Joplin Missouri on August 29, 2025.   He was 88 years old and his battle with health complications ended when he passed from this life into life everlasting with Jesus Christ.   He was surrounded by wife and loved ones.  The family is grateful for the help Compassus Hospice provided in the last day of his life.

He worked and managed the farm his grandparents homesteaded in Jetmore.   He called himself a wheat farmer.   His other occupations included working with handicapped adults at Starkey in Wichita Kansas and construction in and around Hodgeman County.   He retired from Learjet as a tool crib attendant but at his core he was a farmer/rancher.

He loved to hunt and fish.  He rarely missed his target.  He would try to fit fishing into any and all vacations.   He traveled to many places such as Colorado, Texas, Mexico and Canada all with either fishing or hunting on the schedule.   His most recent favorite fishing hole was the Wayne Outback Pond in Sun City, Kansas
