Jetmore – Lelia Mae Ward, 98, passed away October 11, 2023 at Main Street Villa, Cheney, KS.

She was born April 26, 1925 in Hanston, the daughter of Elmer Ray and Elva Laura Fakes Housman.  A lifetime area resident of Dodge City and Jetmore, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Wichita. Lelia enjoyed sewing and loved studying her bible everyday.

On July 23, 1945 she married Lewis L. (Pete) Ward in Jetmore.  He passed away April 23, 2007.

Survivors include: son, Richard (Patricia) Ward, Goddard; two daughters, Dixie (Benny) Tieben, Dodge City, Aloaha (Chuck) Voth, Garden Plain; sister-in-law, Pat Housman, Hanston; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walter Housman, Melvin Donald Housman, David Housman and two sister-in-law's, Darlene Housman and Harriet Housman.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with Rev. Mark Durham presiding.
