Jetmore- Leona Maye Vieux, 99, passed away March 9, 2016 at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore, KS.

She was born January 6, 1917 in Ford, KS, the daughter of William and Margaret Baldridge Cook. A lifetime area resident of Jetmore, she was a Homemaker.

She was a member United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Sunny West EHU, Sew and So Club and she was a 4-H leader. She Graduated from Ford High School and attended Dodge City Community College in the second year of its existence.

On December 21, 1937 in Ford, KS, she married J. Olin Vieux. He passed away June 7, 1998.

Survivors Include: three sons, Eugene (Beki Jo) Vieux, Dodge City, KS., Warren (Sandy) Vieux, Hesston, KS., Doug (Melody) Vieux, Jetmore, KS.; three daughters, Kay Harms, Jetmore, KS., Joyce (Kenneth) Davis, Dodge City, KS., Marsha (John) Ewy, Jetmore, KS.; one sister-in-law, Roberta Cook, Dodge City, KS. and eighteen grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Cook and Edward Cook; two sisters, Virginia Wyatt and Ruth Ailshie.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Jetmore United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will follow the service at the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
