Obituary

Great Bend – Chief Petty Officer Leonard Eugene Sprout, 65, died October 9, 2006, at the Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson, Kansas.

He was a member of the VFW, Great Bend and Wichita. A former Lear Jet Employee for 18 years.

He was born September 12, 1941 at Great Bend, the son of Alison Leonard Sprout Jr. and Gertrude Fisher. A Great Bend resident formerly from Wichita where he lived for 20 years moving from Hawaii, he was a retired Chief Petty Officer for the U.S. Navy serving for 22 years.

On January 30, 1960 he married Shirley Kaye Suiter at Larned. She died July 12, 2002.

Survivors include: a daughter, Debra K. Cauble, Larned; a son David E. Sprout, Wichita; mother, Gertrude Fisher, Rogers. Arkansas; and three Grandsons.

Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Rev. Dan Lundgren presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
