Obituary

Linda I. Best, 71, passed away October 9, 2024 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina.

She was born January 28, 1953 in Burdett, the daughter of Junior Dean and Jane Cooper.

A lifetime area resident, she was a longtime cosmetologist and later retired from Larned Juvenile Correctional Facility as a Rehab Specialist. She was of the Christian Faith, a member of Pawnee County  4-H and helped with Judging and the Style Review. She loved music, going to concerts, traveling, painting, spending time with her family and her grandkids.

On June 16, 1973 she married Rick L. Best at Burdett; he preceded her in death on May 10, 2014.

Survivors include: two daughters, Tiffany (Matt) Eaves, Basehor, Courtney Smith, Topeka; mother, Jane Cooper, Burdett; two brothers, Ron (LaRue) Cooper, Burdett; Terry (Haydee) Cooper, South Korea; sister, Nada (Kirk) Wells, Alexander; four grandchildren, Madelyn and Cecilia "CC" Eaves, and Ryker and Baylyn Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Gary Alan Cooper.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Jarred Smith presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary with family present from 6-8 p.m. Inurnment will be in Larned Cemetery.
