Lloyd Keith Scothorn
(Las Vegas, NV) Lloyd Keith Scothorn, 81, was born 2 January 1932 to Raleigh and Nola Burdue Scothorn in Jetmore Kansas. Lloyd passed away suddenly on 26 November 2013 in Las Vegas Nevada with his family at his side.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife of 56 hears, Betty Lou (Bess) Scothorn in 2008, by his Son James Lloyd Scothorn in 1998, a brother, Randy Scothorn and a sister, Doloris Craghead.
Lloyd retired from Roadway Express Freight Company and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union, Saginaw Michigan, one of Lloyds greatest joys was discussing the finer points of Union membership. Lloyd attended school and graduated from Jetmore High School in 1950, Lloyd enlisted in the United States Air Force 1950-1954. Lloyd loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing the wilds of Michigan where he lived for over 60 years. Lloyd was a member of the American Legion, Saginaw Michigan Post. Lloyd was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Saginaw, helping the veterans as much as he possibly could, with candy, cigarettes or a smile and some conversation.
Lloyd is survived by his two brothers-Leon (Raleigh) Scothorn of Pampa Texas, Dallas Scothorn of Burlington Kansas, three sisters-Sharon Rudzik, Shirley Pfaff, Janice Scothorn of Jetmore Kansas, Daughter-Wendy Antku, Son in Law Gerald Antku, their son James Antku of Bridgeport Michigan. Son-Thomas R. Scothorn, Daughter In Law Myong Scothorn, and their daughter Maria Y. Scothorn of Las Vegas Nevada.
Memorial Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14th, at the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore, with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Lloyd requested that donations be directed to the American Heart Association or to any Veterans Organization in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, KS 67854.
