Burdett – Lois G. Bauer, 83, died January 16, 2007 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas.
She was born March 4, 1923, at Claflin, Kansas, the daughter of Francis "Frank" and Ida Mae Hummel Hoch. A lifetime area resident she was a mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society, both of Larned, and the Burdett American Legion Auxiliary.
On August 25, 1942, she married Emmett J. Bauer at Hanston, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include: five sons, Emmett J. and his wife Patricia, McPherson, Rod, and his wife Lana, Larned, Steve, and his wife Rhonda, Wichita, Greg, and wife Susan, Great Bend, Mark, and his wife Veronica, Burdett; two sisters; Frances Holland, Half Moon Bay, California, Theresa Montague, Sonoma, California; sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Jones.
Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday followed by a Rosary at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Bernard Felix officiating. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the mortuary. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in the Brown's Grove Cemetery, Burdett, Kansas.
