Jetmore – Lois R. Colburn, 91, passed away December 17, 2016, at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.
She was born July 23, 1925, in Great Bend, the daughter of Marcellus A. and Ethel B. Whitchurch Gibbs. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker/farmwife.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Women, taught Sunday school, played the piano for church and served on many Presbyterian committees. She also was a member of the Friendly Neighbors EHU and volunteered for the American Cancer Society, all of Jetmore.
On November 24, 1950, she married John G. Colburn at Dodge City. He passed away April 9, 2008.
Survivors include: daughter, Phyllis (Cary) Tucker, Smith Center and three grandchildren, John (Andrea) Tucker, Newhall, California, Mark Tucker, Smith Center and Sarah (Josh) Linn, St. Louis, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William John Colburn and a sister, Naomi Gibbs
Funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
